The manual processes that ran SRD Engineering’s production initially was no longer an effective solution. The need for a system that increased workflow was satisfied when they found Fitfactory.
Synopsis
SRD Engineering is a family run firm in operation for over 25 years. They focus on six key industrial areas – motorsport, aerospace, oil & gas, the food industry, medical and electronics. The firm has been ISO9001 accredited for a number of years and is currently working towards ASI9100. There are nine millers and five turners employed by the firm, soon to rise to ten and six respectively as the company expands. In total the firm employs 22 people. Since adopting Fitfactory’s system, they have doubled in size.
Selection Process
SRD Engineering has been a Fitfactory customer for over five years, previous to which they were reliant on fax machines, phones, pens and paper to organise workload logistics.
At the time of purchase, SRD Engineering looked at two other products before choosing Fitfactory. Commenting about installation, Director Mark Bonham recalled. “The installation and training were very good and provided the company with a great start to a job processing system.”
Impact on Business
Mark continued, “SRD Engineering would not be able to cope without the system”. In speaking about the support supplied by Fitfactory, he has total confidence that there is always someone on the end of the phone who has the expertise to assist with any queries they may have. “They also help with the odd IT question too” he laughed.
With the increase in workflow, Mark could not recommend Fitfactory enough, “They have given us a much more professional look, delivering our components with computer printed delivery notes and invoices”. His confidence in the product has led him to recommend the product to four other companies!
